Course Description
The City of Maryville, MO is currently experiencing issues with harmful algal blooms (HAB) in Mozingo Lake, their surface water supply, resulting in taste and odor (T&O) events within the distribution system. To address the issue, the City contracted HDR to evaluate methods to mitigate T&O compounds through the treatment process and address the formation of cyanotoxins produced by the HABs.

Roopa has worked for HDR Engineering for 6 years on drinking water and wastewater projects and currently a licensed professional engineer in Kansas. She has earned her master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Kansas University. She is actively involved with Kansas and Missouri AWWA and KWEA YP group.
