TITLE: Water Storage Tank Evaluations and Coatings
About This Training Event
October 29, 2020 • 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
This virtual training will cover water storage tank evaluations and the five criteria for asset evaluations established by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR). Examples of interior and exterior coating system failures, testing procedures, and other considerations for tank and coating inspections, including the use of remote operated vehicles (ROV) for interior tank inspection will be provided. This training will also cover how to prioritize maintenance and repairs based on anticipated risk of failure, level of importance, schedule, and cost of repairs, among other factors.
Once the session has been completed, attendees should have an understanding of:
- MDNR requirements for tank and coating inspections
- Testing procedures for destructive testing and failure analysis
- Prioritization of needed repairs based on asset evaluations
This session will be eligible for PDH and CEU credits. MDNR Course #2008930, 1 credit for water treatment & distribution.

Nick served with the 1st Ranger Battalion at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia, and is an Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran. Nick graduated from University of Missouri – St. Louis with a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and has twelve years of federal, state, and local government contract execution and project management experience. Nick has worked at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency as an Intelligence Analyst, Contract Officer Representative, and Program Management Execution Officer. While he was with the NGA, he earned master’s degrees in Information Management and Project Management from Washington University School of Engineering.
