Donald R. Boyd Water Utility Manager Award

The Donald R. Boyd Water Utility Manager Award recognizes exceptional managerial abilities with a community water supply.  Eligibility requires the individual to be a) a member of MoAWWA; and b) in a managerial position of a community water supply. Presentation of the award will be at the Missouri Section AWWA Annual Conference.

Dr. Warren A. Kramer Award

The Missouri Section of AWWA presents an award in honor of Dr. Warren A. Kramer for a paper that addresses an aspect of the drinking water industry. This award recognizes excellence and professionalism, as well as presentation of useful and timely knowledge regarding drinking water. Examples of subject matter include, but are not limited to treatment plant design, operation or maintenance, utility design, testing, water quality research, development of water resources, utility operation, economics, utility administration, utility accounting, and billing procedures, etc.

The author(s) of the paper must be a regular or student member(s) of the Missouri Section of AWWA. The Missouri Section is willing to reimburse annual Student Member dues for up to 25 current students per year who are pursuing water or water technology-related degrees in Missouri. Papers must be submitted in the format described on the AWWA National website.

Please mail or email an electronic copy of your manuscript by the deadline below. The winner will receive a plaque commemorating the award and a prize of $1,000 to be awarded at the Missouri Section AWWA Annual Conference.

Missouri Section AWWA Sustainability Award

MO-AWWA wants to celebrate successfully completed projects that focus on the sustainability of clean, reliable drinking water for the state of Missouri. Please take a moment to review the attached application and nominate an organization that deserves recognition!

Preference is given towards projects that promote sustainable environmental benefits for water-related projects. Qualifying projects may be related to source protection for surface water or groundwater, reduction/elimination of pollutant discharges, waste management reduction, green infrastructure solutions, efficiency improvements, LEED projects, or water treatment improvements that equate to long-term water quality sustainability. In general, projects that improve the environment and benefit public health may qualify. Preference is given to projects that demonstrate sustainability related to potable water. Wastewater, stormwater, recycling, reuse, and air quality improvement projects are all eligible depending on the impact the project has on protecting and improving our water resources. Consideration given to triple bottom line impact. Must have an AWWA membership for your project to qualify. First, second, and third-place awards will be given.

George Warren Fuller Award

Fuller Award Recipients


Operator's Meritorious Service Award

Purpose of This Award

Recognition of special performance in one or more of the following:

  1. Continuous compliance with public health standards in finished water.
  2. Consistent and outstanding contributions to plant maintenance thereby prolonging the useful life of equipment.
  3. Development of new and/or modified equipment or significant process modifications to provide for a more efficient or effective treatment.
  4. Special efforts in the training of treatment plant operators.
  5. Special acts not directly related to water treatment, but which demonstrate dedication to the public beyond the normal operating responsibilities.
  6. Consistent and outstanding contribution to operation and/or maintenance of distribution lines and reservoirs.

Award Eligibility

Section members eligible to receive the Operator's Meritorious Service Award should be operators who are presently or during the time period of the meritorious service activities, working in the capacity of shift supervisors or superintendents.

The award will be presented at the Section's Annual Conference by the visiting AWWA representative and will be formally announced by publication or otherwise at the American Water Works Association Conference and Exposition.
